Antrim, NH — May 9, 2025
A head-on collision on Route 9 near Salmon Brook Road in Antrim Friday afternoon sent two individuals to the hospital with serious injuries and shut down the roadway for approximately one hour.
Antrim Fire, Ambulance, and Police departments were dispatched at 1:19 PM to the scene for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving entrapment and a smoking vehicle. Initial reports prompted a request for additional resources from Hillsborough Fire, including a second ambulance and heavy rescue unit.
Emergency crews arrived to find a Toyota Tacoma and a Chevrolet Tahoe had collided head-on at highway speed. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage, with approximately two feet of intrusion into the occupant compartments.
The male driver of the Tacoma was able to exit the vehicle on his own. A female passenger in the Tahoe was pinned by the dashboard and required extrication. Firefighters from Antrim and Hillsborough used hydraulic rescue tools to free her from the vehicle.
In total, three patients were evaluated. The Tacoma driver and the female Tahoe passenger were transported to Concord Hospital with multi-system trauma and serious injuries. The driver of the Tahoe sustained minor injuries and declined transport.
Route 9 was closed for about an hour as crews worked to assist patients and clear the scene. Mikes Towing recovered both vehicles.
